Advanced painting techniques

Students on the advanced painting techniques course will have access to a weekly class in Live format (live on the YouTube platform) with step-by-step demonstrations and in-depth analysis of traditional painting themes: landscapes, houses, animals, birds and the human figure.

The course provides a complete approach to the main oil painting techniques, with guidance and support to answer any questions you may have.

Participants will have access to an exclusive art history course with an introduction to the main artistic movements, studies of works and techniques of the great masters of the past.

The online course will provide the student with a solid foundation to develop their artistic skills, creating a habit of constant study and practice. The advanced techniques course is aimed at students who want to improve and develop more complex concepts and themes in oil painting.

The fundamentals of landscape, houses, animals and the human figure will be presented and explored in depth through the development of various themes and different sizes of canvases. Landscape scenes and genre paintings will be the main focus of studies in the first half of 2024.

With the addition of animals, birds and the human figure, explanations of the basic fundamentals, demonstrations of anatomy, proportions and artistic interpretation of photographic references will be carried out. The second semester will have greater development with animals and the human figure.

Topics to be covered:

- Tonal values, edges, shapes, proportions, composition, color theory, perspective, fluidity, harmony and symmetry.

-Studies of artistic anatomy of the human figure and animals.

-Drawing of the human head.

- Studies and copies of works by the great masters of the past

- Direct and indirect painting techniques (layers)

-Outdoor painting (en plein air)

-Natural painting

-Large format painting

-Classic techniques of linear construction, underpainting, monochrome and mass concept

-Alla prima technique

-Genre painting

Participation in a WhatsApp group where students will be informed about new classes, reference images for studies, have their questions answered and have the opportunity to interact with artists and students from various regions of the country.

How long will the advanced techniques course last?

The advanced techniques course will be held from January to December 2024.

How will I access the course?

The Painting course classes will be available on Douglas Okada's YouTube channel in an area reserved for students. Access to the classes will be permanent and can be done on any device.

To access the classes:

1. You must log in to YouTube before watching the video.

2. Since private videos do not appear on the channel page, the student must use the specific link provided. After purchasing the course, the links to access the classes will be sent to your email.

3. It is necessary to send an email to atelierdouglasokada@gmail.com with your full name, email address and WhatsApp number.

4. YouTube is a Google platform and the recommended way to watch classes is to use a GMAIL email address.

5. After completing the online Painting course, an electronic certificate of participation will be sent.

7. Class times will be from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Mondays (note: there will be no classes on national or local holidays).
